
TCS appoints Sudeep Kunnumal as Chief HR Officer designate
Tata Consulting Services (TCS) has announced Sudeep Kunnumal as Chief Human Resources Officer designate with effect from March 14, 2025 and would take over as Chief Human Resources Officer, upon superannuation of Mr. Milind Lakkad.
Sudeep has been a TCS veteran since 2000 and currently holds the position of Vice President of Human Resources. He oversees HR functions for the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) vertical, which contributes approximately 35-40% of the company’s revenue.
Throughout his 24-year stint with the company, has built his career on a strong commitment to driving organizational growth through strategic HR initiatives, innovative talent solutions, and operational excellence. His leadership experience spans North America, Europe, and APAC, allowing him to contribute across the entire HR lifecycle in diverse markets, the company said in an exchange filing.
In all his roles, he has been instrumental in crafting compelling value propositions to attract and retain top-tier talent, reinforcing the company’s position as an employer of choice while bridging the gap between academia and industry. His transformative contributions to talent acquisition include pioneering gaming-based hiring methodologies that not only identified high-potential candidates but also elevated candidate engagement. This innovation led to a landmark achievement—setting a Guinness World Record through CodeVita, the global programming contest that redefined campus hiring practices.
Sudeep has led enterprise-wide change management initiatives, enhancing the company’s approach to talent integration and ensuring smooth transitions during onboarding, mergers, and acquisitions. In talent management and leadership development, he has collaborated closely with business leaders to identify, nurture, and retain high-potential talent. Leveraging advanced technologies and AI, he has implemented dynamic talent marketplace solutions within BFSI, optimizing resource deployment, increasing agility, and unlocking the workforce’s full potential.

Before joining Tata Consulting Services, Sudeep served as the Head of Human Resources at Petro Araldite Pvt. Ltd. from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, he was a Senior Personnel Officer at Indo Matsushita Appliances Company Limited from August 1995 to June 1998.
