Apple's new feature of M2 chip in MacBook Air & MacBook Pro

Apple has taken over the Intel dominance over chip market for apple products. Introduction of the M2 chip clearly establishes Apple’s supremacy over Intel for Apple products. Its been a decade now since Laptops or Macs sweep into the lives of common man, similarly Apple is changing the dynamics of High Performance computers with its introduction of M1 Ultra & Mac Studio. It’s interesting to see if Apple introduces their m-series chips to their highest end Mac-Pro, the supercomputer. Join me in this learning lab to take a look at the new capabilities of the M2 chip and which computers it’s been put into.

As you might know, the M2 chip has been released, which is the next generation of m-series chips. This chip has a unified memory bandwidth of a 100 GB per second. It also has an 8-core CPU which consists of 4 high-performance cores and 4 high-efficiency cores. It also has a 10-core GPU which is 2 more than M1. M2 delivers 18 percent higher performance than M1. This chip is revolutionary and after being put into laptops it will just peak it’s performance.

What’s the first mac that this chip is being put into? It’s the world’s best-selling laptop, the MacBook Air. MacBook Air also has some changes to its design, and the wedge-shaped design is now gone, and it has evolved into a design that looks thin from every angle. The bezels have also now become thinner to provide an expansive 13.6 Inch screen. The extra real-estate is used for the menu bar, and there is a notch on top which has a 1080 p webcam. MacBook air comes in 4 beautiful finishes, midnight, starlight, silver and space grey. Mag-Safe has also been brought to the new MacBook Air. The two thunderbolt ports are now free for connecting to a variety of accessories. The also has a liquid-retina display.

MacBook Air now supports One-Billion colours which makes photos and videos look stunning in the new MacBook Air.

The new MacBook Pro has no changes to the design but instead has the M2 chip inside of it. The additional difference between the Air and Pro model being that the Pro has an active cooling system or a fan.
